011年，常德市鼎城区河洲龟鳖专业合作社正式誕生，组建种苗基地150亩，成鳖基地1000余亩，年产幼鳖苗50万公斤，成品鳖150万公斤，同时，带动全省10多个县（市）、 上千户农民养殖中华鳖，养殖面积近万亩，产品销售达全国23个省（市）。 河洲风景美如画。 洞庭湖，烟波浩渺，水天一色，洞庭湖区得天独厚的水质，气候，土壤等自然条件，成为了甲鱼繁育、生长的理想国。
